Day Four

Yesterday our group met up and went to the park all together. It was a beautiful beautiful beautiful day!! Alex, Lindsey and I rented a boat for only 4 Euro (perfect) and rowed, like pros, all over the lake. It was actually really hard work-- the most I've exercised since I've been here, haha. Here are some pictures!

Fail...

Much better!
After boating we just laid in a patch of grass at the park. I can’t get over how slowly time moves here, everything is so relaxed. It was 6:30 by the time we left, which would normally be dinnertime at home, but I felt like here the day is just getting started.

We had a super yummy dinner last night. Blanca made grilled chicken, salad, and these homemade french fry-type thing. It was the most American meal we’ve eaten here- maybe that’s why we all liked it so much!

After that I took a short nap (from 9:30-10:30, such weird timing!) and then we went to a bar and had drinks with the whole group.

Salud!
Then we split up into smaller groups, since a twenty-person group is kind of big to walk around Madrid, and went back to the Plaza del Sol, where we were the night before. We had lots of fun dancing! I was ‘repping my Chi Omega gear here in Spain for the night J

OWL!
Today I finally got a phone to use here in Spain. If you know me, you know I’m always on my blackberry at home. I thought I would miss having my phone, but it’s actually been really liberating not having it ring and ring all the time or constantly texting, messaging, and emailing. My phone here is teeny tiny- I LOVE IT! I don’t plan on using it very much, so it serves the purpose, plus it didn’t cost much. I talked to the guy at the phone store completely in Spanish, so hopefully (I’m pretty sure anyway!) I got the right thing for the next three months.

YAY! Early morning, no makeup. Lo siento...
Well I’m off to meet up with some of the people in our group- tomorrow the plan is to go to the Prado, a famous museum in Spain, because it’s FREE on Sundays, so great! And maybe after we’ll go to a flea market! Adios!
