The Royal Palace in Madrid, Tapas, The Plaza Mayor, and Disney Movies

Today was great! I got my cell phone, ate, took a nap, then walked around in the downtown area of Madrid with a few other people from my study abroad program. We went to the Royal Palace-- so beautiful! There were three wedding parties there taking pictures. It must be a popular spot!

We always make the boys take our picture. Just one example of this!

There were three weddings here today! Just one example!

Street view!

Iglesia

Totally normal for Spain: people macking in broad daylight in front of the whole world.

Can we talk about how cute the kids are dressed here?!

Sunset in Spain

On our way to the Plaza Mayor we stopped at a small restaurant and ordered some tapas for snacks. Then three of us grabbed some ice cream and I got my favorite flavor: mango! SO DELICIOUS. That totally made my night :)

Menu. I love the "we speak english" part

Some type of garlic chicken- yum!

Mussels... hmmm

Cute little tapas bar

Cheese and marmalade on toast. Minus the toast for me

Bacon and cheese sandwich

Calamari sandwich... interesante

WE'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY!!
We walked through the Plaza Mayor for a little while but I definitely want to go back during the day since it was pretty dark by the time we got there. There was something going on in the middle of the plaza, some sort of celebration of Argentina so we didn't get a chance to see much. But still, it was obviously a very beautiful place.

Plaza Mayor
Tonight my roommate Lindsey and I are planning on staying in. We bought a bottle of wine for 2.95 Euro (things here are so cheap!) and are going to watch our host mom's collection of Disney movies in Spanish!

Lion King!!

Midnight snack! Gluten free sandwich... plus a little paper from the cheese. Whoops.
Que tenga un buen noche!
